Healing Hands Mandala Project, 9/16/21
This art piece is a group art activity in one of the Spiritual Care Groups that I facilitate in Behavioral Health. The art project is based on the "Parable of the Good Samaritan." Participants (adolescents & staff) traced their right and left hands. Following St. Francis of Assisi's dictum that it is "giving that we receive," the left hand represents the receiving hand, and the right hand represents the giving hand. In each hand, participants wrote the needed support that they give and receive in their journey of healing. We then connected all of the hands together in the mandala circle. We sang: "Will You Be My Servant."
